BOS Text Messaging — Opt-In & Consent

Last updated: July 23, 2026

This page describes how text (SMS) messaging works in BOS, the Builder Operating System — who receives messages, how consent is collected, and how to opt out at any time.

Who receives messages

BOS sends text messages only to the builder's own subcontractors, employees, and homeowner clients — people with an existing business relationship with the builder — and only after they have opted in as described below. BOS never sends texts to purchased lists or cold contacts.

How opt-in works

  1. In the BOS app, the builder confirms the contact agreed to receive texts. The builder must check an on-screen confirmation before any consent request can be sent: "I confirm this contact agreed to receive job-update text messages from us."

BOS in-app consent confirmation dialog with the required attestation checkbox
    In-app consent confirmation
  2. BOS sends the contact one confirmation text: "BOS: Reply YES to receive job updates. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

  3. The recipient must reply YES. No operational messages are sent unless they confirm.

Message types & frequency

Messages are operational only: schedule changes, task assignments, change-order approvals, document signature requests, inspection notices, and project status updates. Message frequency varies based on project activity. BOS does not send marketing messages.

STOP, HELP & rates

Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages.

Reply HELP for help.
